‘Why a slow month can be still be positive’.

This is the final in our series of ‘Why a slow month can be still be positive’… and today a good example of why safety sometimes can cost you a profitable trade … but in the long run keeps your account growing rather than shrinking…

US NON FARM LOCKS IN MOVEMENTS FROM 1 PIP TO 35 PIPS…

The US Non farm did not react as violently as expected due to many banks being closed for Good Friday however it did hit our triggers and provided for some good profits.

In the Forex Live-on-the-News trading room we use software that moves our stop to +1 pip once the market has moved 7 pips which is a great safety precaution however it can be a double edged sword.

This protects us from whipsaw markets but occasionally we will get stopped out with 1 pip profit and wish we hadn’t.

Fortunately we did not get stopped out but some traders did - scoring only 1 pip movement.

Others made very good profits on this trade.

08:40:35 {markh} 30 pip spread and got out with 4 pip profit. 30 pip spread sounds very big compared to other people who are getting 30-40 pip profits.
